CivilServicesExam.guru is a voluntary, pro-bono initiative of a few serving civil servants of India, designed to motivate & mentor the deserving aspirants, to clear the Civil Services Examination. These aspirants are expected to become the ideal civil servants of tomorrow, thus spearheading good governance in India.
Mentoring process here is unique in three ways; it is online, interactive in real-time, and hand-holds the aspirants continuously for the entire period of preparation.
Online classes are conducted daily, through Telegram messenger groups, which allows simultaneous interaction between all the students and the mentors, on real-time. Assignments are given in the class which are submitted thru email/telegram, verified and explained. Thus, this initiative will appear as a boon to many motivated and hardworking students, who want to prepare from home. Even those who have joined coaching classes can join this mentoring, as the classs are conducted in the early morning and late evening. However the assignments are compulsory. The strategy adopted in mentoring has the following components:
1) RAG, a method of prioritising the syllabus.
2) Crowd sourcing of notes and mock question papers.
3) Regular insightful Class Discussion with Mentors.
4) Intensive mock tests and feedback with Mentors.
5) Personalized counselling to each candidate on all aspects of preparation.
This mentoring is for those candidates who have already started their preparation and have done at least one reading of the entire prelims syllabus. Thus, if you have already attempted prelims once, then you are the ideal candidate!
The selection of candidates to this mentoring programme is done through an Online Entrance Test (OET), where the desirable qualities that would make the candidate an ideal civil servant later are tested. The OET for this year is scheduled to be on January 7th , 2017, at 1800 hrs. Three hundred (300) students will be selected for the RAG Prelims class, 2017. We would have a waiting list too.
